Our Answers to Your FAQS

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, always!

What does a new patient consultation entail?

First, you will meet with our patient coordinator who will take any necessary x-rays and talk with you about what you want from your smile. You will discuss all of your needs. Then you will meet with the doctor, who will give you an examination and evaluate your treatment options. The doctor will then go over your treatment plan with you. When our patient coordinator discusses your treatment plan with you, she will explain the cost of services as well. After that, you will meet with the financial coordinator to discuss insurance coverage, payment options and financial arrangements. She will present all pertinent information regarding insurance coverage and your out-of-pocket expense. You will leave our office on the day of your consultation with your treatment plan and financial responsibility outlined in writing, as well as your first treatment appointment!

How much does a consultation cost?

A consultation is FREE. It is simply the opportunity to meet you and assess your dental needs, find out what you want from your smile and send you home with the information you need about your dental health and get you on your way to the smile you’ve always wanted.

How long will I be in the office for my consultation?

We schedule a new patient consultation for an hour and a half. Our doctors and patient coordinators want to make sure you have a thorough understanding of your treatment plan, payment options, your insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expense.

How soon can I come in for a consultation?

If you are experiencing pain, call our office and we will get you in immediately. We will take care of the pain as quickly as possible and then get you in at the earliest convenience for a follow-up appointment. For all other consultations, we will work with your schedule to get you in at your earliest convenience.

Can I have treatment done on the day I come in for a consultation?

If you are in pain that day, we will perform treatment to relieve you of pain. Otherwise, we will schedule you as soon as possible for your treatment visit.

Can I bring my children with me?

Absolutely! Varinos Dental Associates is a family friendly office!

Do you take insurance?

Yes! We can submit to any insurance company. We will let you know what part of your treatment will be covered by your insurance and what your out-of-pocket expense will be.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Our office has many payment options available to make paying for your treatment affordable and comfortable. We accept cash, personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. In addition, our office offers convenient monthly payment plans through CareCredit, Medical Financing and iCare. These health care credit cards are specifically designed to pay for treatment and procedures not covered by insurance. Our Financial Coordinator is happy to assist you in applying for any of these health care credit card options during your consultation visit. You fill out the paperwork in our office and your pre-approved line of credit is available to you that day. We don’t want there to be any reason – including financial – for you not to receive the dental care you need!

Should I bring anything with me to my consultation/ first visit?

If you have insurance, please bring your insurance card, so that we can find out your level of benefits. If you have any x-rays from a previous dental office, feel free to bring those. Also, if you received our new patient packet beforehand, please bring any completed paperwork that you have filled out. If not, don’t worry. You can fill out all the necessary paperwork when you get here.

What To Do in the Case of Tooth Loss Accidents
  • If the tooth is loose, even extremely so, but is still attached in any way, leave it in place; do not remove it.
  • If it is out of its socket completely and unattached, but still in the victim’s mouth, it is best to have the person hold it there, if possible, until Dr. Varinos can attempt re-implantation.
  • If it is out of the mouth, do not let it dry out. Handle it as little as possible. Do not attempt to disinfect the tooth, or scrub it, or remove any tissue attached to it. Call our office at (978) 535-3800 immediately.
  • If it is recovered from the ground or other soiled area, rinse it off in lukewarm water. Preserve it in milk until Dr. Varinos can examine it. If milk is not available, lukewarm water will suffice.
  • Time out of the socket is critical in the long-term success of re-implantation. After 30 minutes, the success potential begins to decline. However, re-implantation by Dr. Varinos is still possible after several hours, so the attempt can still be made even if the tooth has been out for a long period.
